Tondo - Mauro StaccioliMauro Staccioli
red concrete, diam. 116 in.

(Volterra, 1937) Mauro Staccioli developed the idea of sculpture in close relationship with space by the late ’60s, creating “sign sculptures.” He conceives sculpture as a form of meditation which connects man to the space that surrounds him. The work Tondo has been reproduced in a smaller size to be awarded to the recipients of the IIC Lifetime Achievement Award.
